Ms. Andrea Wiesholzer

Andrea Wiesholzer joined Germanwatch in 2019 as consultant on infrastructure necessary for the energy transition. In that position she dealt with issues of sector integration. In addition to the future of electricity grids, her core topics included power-to-x technologies, the role of (renewable) gas and matters of a socially just transition process. Since 2021 she has increasingly focused on the role of hydrogen in energy and industry transition and, today is Germanwatch’s expert on hydrogen and climate policy. Andrea Wiesholzer studied political science and cultural studies in her Bachelor's degree. During her Masters in Global Change Management she focused on the transformation process of the energy transition. After her professional station in the social sector, at Diakonie Germany, she returned to the energy transition context with new ideas and impulses. Since then, the social challenges but also opportunities of the energy transition have been among her main motivators.
